Letters in the time of Quarantine

“If you are reading this, then the world has survived the Co-vid pandemic…” That’s what I wrote to my daughters today.

My daughters are 6 and 2 years old. I’m sure they will remember little about this historical moment of being on quarantine because of a pandemic. I wrote to them today. These are the journals that I write on from time to time to record memories for them to read when they’re already grown.

Today, I shared to them the lessons I learned so far in the past few weeks of the quarantine. One, there are many ordinary blessings that people overlook until they are taken away. Two, people either live in fear or in faith. It’s one thing to feel the fear and another to live in it. Three, there are glimmers of hope in the dark. There are good people. There are people who help, give and pray. There are those who serve, fight and protect. Do your own share of good. God notices each little act of good.

I’m in faith that this too shall pass. One day, this will all be a memory. I hope that when my children look back, they will remember faith, hope and love in our home. 🏡
